Revel in the revitalizing qualities of the Bad Füssing spring waters
65 years ago, a group of engineers were drilling for oil. Imagine their surprise when all they struck was “just” hot water. But it is these waters that have now made Bad Füssing one of Europe’s leading spa towns. Bad Füssing, located on the lower stretches of the river Inn, was one of the very first destinations in Bavaria to be developed. Today, Bad Füssing is a modern centre for health and wellness holidays.In recent years some € 125 million has been spent by the town council and private investors on modernising the hotels, the thermal baths and leisure facilities. The “Kurplatz” has now become an Italian style boulevard and the 18 hole golf course is the ideal meeting point for anyone looking for a golfing challenge. The “Saunahof” (sauna centre), covering over 3,000 square meters, is an absolute hit. Combine the historic atmosphere of a 200 year old building with state-of-the-art sauna facilities and you have the “Saunahof”, housed in original 17th -18th century Rottal farm houses which have been re-erected next to "Therme 1". Bad Füssing has a rich cultural tradition. The Bad Füssing "Kulturfestival" (cultural festival) is staged every year in September and October with top artistes from all over the world. Concerts, musicals, cabarets, exhibitions, lectures and plays are performed throughout the festival as well as at other times of the year, too.
