The facades of both wings of the hotel comprise entirely of glass bringing the beauty of the mountains into every corner of Germany’s very first Mountain Resort. Surrounded by unspoilt Alpine meadows the interior of the resort cleverly reflects the surrounding natural beauty of the mountain peaks and woodlands. Extensive use of natural stone, hard woods and warm earthy oranges and reds reminiscent of a sunset and echoing the wonders of the natural world outside are all cleverly contrasted by the subtle use of stained glass, ingenious lighting and clear-cut lines – a contemporary yet timeless design language.
The eye-catcher in the reception area is a seven-metre high natural stonewall separating the spacious lobby from other areas of the hotel. In the lounge the focus is a hood floating above the free-standing stone fireplace cleverly designed so as not to interrupt the stunning views of the surrounding mountains. In winter the flames of the log fire crackle against a backdrop of glittering snow-covered peaks.
Spatial symmetry and harmony – the guiding principles of the award-winning “The Mountain Spa” – create an ambiance of vitality and inner harmony. Hardwoods and high gloss, green hues and stained glass: the exciting juxtaposition of natural
and artificial materials is continued in the appointment of the rooms that have been so cleverly designed so that in every room the guest can enjoy stunning views of the mountains even from the comfort of his bed.
