Kuchlbauers World of Beer and its Hundertwasser tower
Kuchlbauers World of Beer with the Hunderwasser Kuchlbauer Tower has become important to beer lovers. Here you’ll find beer and art fused into a unique experience. On our tour through the theme areas of Brewery, Art and the Kuchlbauer Tower you’ll find out everything about Bavaria's heart of beer and art including its history and its secrets.
The brewery itself is a walk-in piece of art, with its vaulted cellars and the replica of Leonardo da Vinci’s "Last Supper“, the "weißbier“ heaven with its gnomes, the world’s largest collection of “weißbier” glasses and now the new tower designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
Abensberg is located in the Hallertau, the world’s largest hop growing area. The Kuchlbauer brewery was founded way back in the 14th century setting it amongst the echelons of the world’s oldest breweries all of which lie within the boundaries of the district of Kelheim. Others in these prestigious ranks include the monastical brewery in Weltenburg, the Schneider weißbier brewery in Kelheim and the privately owned Pausinger brewery in Herrngiersdorf.
