Sledding in the Alpine region of Tegernsee Schliersee
All around Tegernsee, Schliersee and Spitzingsee, Fischbachau and Bayrischzell a number of sled runs are carefully prepared for the winter season each year. The best one of them all must surely be the sled run on the Wallberg. The cable car whisks you swiftly to the top and then it’s time for the off! Other local runs are a little more back to nature. After a hard climb to the top of the hill no day would be complete without a brief break in a rustic hut for a cup of hot tea before it’s back out into the snow for the exhilarating dash down the hill. By the way: many of the huts have sleds for hire.
Sledding on the Wallberg
The ultimate in sledding fun is guaranteed on Germany’s longest natural sled run that is located in the Alpine region of Tegernsee-Schliersee.
The 6.5 km run begins right beneath the panorama restaurant and takes about 30 minutes to drop the 825 height metres to the valley below. Sleds are available for hire at the cable car valley station.
