Snowkite courses in Bavaria
What is snowkiting?
Snowkiting is the ultimate trend sport for snow and winter sports fans. There can be nothing more exciting than being propelled across the snow on a ski or snowboard holding on to the strings of a kite. All you need to go snowkiting is a large snow-covered area, a light breeze, a steerable kite, a snowboard or skis strapped to your feet and off you go!
Snowkiting is a fabulous new challenge particularly for those who have already mastered snowboarding and skiing. Wind power alone is all it takes to have you cruising gently across snow-covered meadows or racing at full speed and doing acrobatics through the air. 5 m high and 10 m long jumps are absolutely no problem with the help of a kite. Snowkiting is fun for one and all! Gliding across the snow as if you are completely weightless is an amazing feeling and easy to learn even for a beginner.
The Bavarian Forest offers perfect snowkiting conditions: wide open spaces, constant breezes and a high guarantee of snow. There are as yet no officially dedicated snowkiting areas so it is always advisable to gain permission from the landowner in advance.
Courses:
Anyone who has a basic level of fitness can learn to snowkite. Previous knowledge of snowboarding or skiing can help but is definitely not a prerequisite. Snowkite courses are offered in Philippsreut and Kreuzberg (Freyung-Grafenaudistrict) in the Bavarian Forest as well as in Holzkirchen just south of Munich and in Obertauern.

- 2-day course: € 199,00 (€ 179,00)
- 3- day course: € 279,00 (€ 249,00)
- 4- day course: € 329,00 (€ 299,00)
- Private lessons: € 69,00
All equipment is provided. Participants may bring their own skis or snowboard if they wish.. Ski or snowboard hire is also available.
