Proximity to the Great Outdoors
All around you are lakes, rivers and mountains – big ones (the Alps!) – and the endless possibilities of hiking, walking and Nordic walking – anything that’s active and restorative because, uniquely, Bavarians prize the purity of their air as much as their beer.
Whenever, wherever, whatever you do, you feel the pull of nature. Don’t resist it - just go with it!
Countless walking, hiking and mountain paths, as well as Nordic-Walking trail, lead out through our broad valley, along the banks of the Traun river.
Altogether 6000 kilometres of alpine paths between Monaco and Triest invite you to discover the nature and cultural heritage of the whole alpine region including Bavaria. This network of highlighted walks with no climbing passages run through most alpine mountains groups, through about 40 nature and national parks as well as conservation areas.
Towering peaks to pastoral idyll - the Allgäu has it all. The region’s range of trails linking all altitude levels is second almost to none in Germany.
The trail offers approximately 660 kilometers of hiking terrain with attractive scenery, cultural sightseeing and a hiking guidance system along the way. The trail stretches across long passages through the Upper Palatinate and Bavarian Forest, northeast of Munich.
