Barbara Stadler walks through the door of the inn, with her pink skirt and pink sash fluttering. The 32-year-old welcomes the guests in the “Kirchenwirt”, clears two plates as she passes and then opens a large glass door. Her grandparents once ran a butcher’s shop in the adjacent inn, now Barbara Stadler offers modern costume trends. Since January 2019, she has been the owner of “Diese Elli” in Anzing in the Upper Bavarian district of Ebersberg – probably the first inn-boutique in Bavaria.
The Munich-born designer came up with the idea when increasing numbers of local guests wanted to buy her fancy dresses and beautiful decorative elements. “Women in particular find it nice to take a souvenir home after dinner”, explains the boutique owner. Barbara Stadler and her mother design their own creations. The former tourism student also relies on family to furnish her shop: her brother Benno, a trained carpenter, furnished “Diese Elli” with precious oak.
