How producers became "Suppliers to the Bavarian Royal Court":
Between 1806 and 1918 the reigning monarchs awarded the Bavarian Royal Court title as a personal distinction and guarantee of outstanding quality. Once a year the Court Title Commission assembled to evaluate the many applicants. Only those chosen were permitted to use the sought-after title and display the royal crest in their company's own mark.
