In May 2012, Bayern Munich FC opened the largest club museum in Germany in the Allianz Arena. The 3,000-square-metre FC Bayern Erlebniswelt presents the 110-year history of the club – spanning from its founding in 1900 to the present day – with a whole host of multimedia and interactive elements; all in an entertaining and interesting way. Needless to say, the many cups and trophies that have been won over the years are also on display. These are complemented by innumerable small and large exhibits, all of which tell their own, unique stories.
In the Hall of Fame visitors get to meet the 16 most popular and most successful Bayern Munich players. These include world stars like Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Müller, Lothar Mathäus and Oliver Kahn, as well as fans' favourites such as Mehmet Scholl and Giovane Elber.
In the games zone you can test your ball skills, your goalkeeping reflexes and your knowledge of Bayern Munich. It promises great fun for young and old. At the "Hörbar", you can listen to the many songs connected to Bayern Munich or even songs sung by the players themselves. From classics like "Gute Freunde kann niemand trennen" (Good friends can never be parted) to "Stern des Südens" (Star of the south) – everything is here.
The final section of the Erlebniswelt focuses on the current team. Here you can find life-size versions of the players; you can discover how much luggage is taken to a game; and you can even take your place on the Bayern Munich team bus.
And an area in the Erlebniswelt has even been dedicated to the fans of Bayern Munich. Here visitors can take pictures of themselves, which are then shown on large screens and can be sent home via email. In addition, pictures of banners and a wide range of fan items are also on display.
