Dates 2020: 8th - 17th AugustWhat originally began with a horse race has developed, in more than 350 years, to become the Dachau Fair as we know it today. Every year, more than 300,000 visitors are attracted to Dachau at the start of August (around the public holiday for Assumption Day). The numerous attractions, such as the “Ferris wheel”, the “ghost train” or “break dance”, and a number of marquees create an attractive offer for young and old alike.
The children's day and the family day mean that Dachau Fair is a popular destination for families too. The colourful firework display, which reveals its blaze of colour above Dachau Palace and is one of the largest in southern Bavaria, is known as a particular highlight.
The “Bergkriterium” takes place on Assumption Day. Its route goes over cobblestones and presents a particular challenge for enthusiastic cyclists. Dachau Fair also enjoys an extraordinary popularity due to the remarkably low price of the beer, which is amongst the lowest in Bavaria.
