Dates 2021: 31th July - 8th August
Good food, good company, good beer and tremendous atmosphere – it is with good reason that the Kulmbach Beer Week attracts up to 120,000 visitors every year, without any fairground rides or other “hoopla”. The traditional event takes place in the centre of Kulmbach beneath Plassenburg Castle. Guests flock from near and far to enjoy the world-renowned beer at its source.Young and old, bosses and employees, locals and visitors – they all sit together on one bench and celebrate together. The festival barn in the heart of the city centre is, as always, at the heart of the festivities. In each of the four corners of the barn, a different brewery offers its festival beer which has been brewed specially for Beer Week. The beer has, of course, been brewed in accordance with the Bavarian Purity Law. A number of delicious dishes from the hearty Franconian cuisine taste particularly good with it. Atmosphere is provided by both local bands and music societies and those that are known throughout Germany. This is practised beer culture in Upper Franconia!
