The museum of the region of Swabia extends over two buildings of a former baroque monastery.
An interesting and entertaining stroll through 300 years of everyday culture in the Ries awaits the visitors in the “brewery”. A dairy, a doctor's practice and a hairdressing salon are just a few of the stations on the 1100 m² on the topics of clothing, goods and advertising, house and home, medicine and childhood. Examples of dialect, interviews, image and film material and active stations supplement the exhibition. Children follow the goose Marie on a trail of their own.
In the monastery farm building, the agricultural revolution in the Ries from 1800 to 1950, from laborious manual labour to full mechanisation, is examined on 900 m². In line with this, a field is cultivated with historic crops.
