- 10.00 am: The herald lifts his sword on the town square and gives the signal for the procession to start

Another highlight of the Georgiritt is the historical sword dance, whose roots can be traced back to the year 1530. Framed by the structure of prologue, sword song and epilogue, the dance symbolises the victory of spring over winter and has been practised on a regular basis since 1926.
The procession is organised by the Traunstein St. Georgs Association, the town of Traunstein and the parish of St. Oswald
