Dagmar Rosenbauer sits in her small workshop in a restored half-timbered building in Kunreuth. With deft hands, she twists gold wire into rosettes. She threads on glass beads alternating with sequins. Then she repeats the whole exercise again – week after week of painstaking craftsmanship. Together with cardboard and gold lamé braids, she uses time-honoured methods to turn these materials of traditional festive headwear into magnificent crowns.
