The Landshut Short Film Festival is one of the cultural highlights of the town and is known far beyond the borders of Bavaria. The festival is arranged and organised by the not-for-profit association Dynamo Kurzfilm e.V.
Traditionally, the main focus is on productions from Germany, Austria and Switzerland which compete in a variety of competitions, such as feature film, documentary film and children's film as well as two international competitions in the categories of genre short film, for horror, fantasy and science fiction films, and animation.
Three venues with different atmospheres contribute to the unique charm of the festival. Arthouse cinema or a multiplex - every style is represented. The auditoriums have 60 to 450 seats.
As a forerunner of digital projection technology, the Digital Cinema Package was accepted as the screening format as early as 2007.
Even the rapid growth and the modern technology have done no harm to the consistently informal and great atmosphere of the festival. “You feel at home” is what the director Marcus H. Rosenmüller once said about the festival - a great compliment for everyone involved.
