Since 1981, the Munich International Festival of Film Schools has been an important meeting place for the star directors of tomorrow. Its founder, Professor Wolfgang Längsfeld, was the festival director until 2002. Since 2011, Diana Iljine has been the festival director. It is one of the world's most important festivals for young talents.
Awards with a total value of 50,000 euros await the young filmmakers from 32 film schools from throughout the world. The works are shown in the Munich Film Museum, St.-Jakobs-Platz 1. As well as films from all continents, the best films made by young talents from ten European countries are included.
