The oldest inn in the world
Through a folding door with colourful glass panes, visitors enter the interior of the historic building. Many of the wooden pieces of furniture date from the 19th century. In the Gaststätte Röhrl everything looks the same as it has always done – not least because it has made a name for itself as the oldest inn in the world.
The inn has been owned by the Röhrl family since 1658. “The Guinness Book of Records has confirmed our long management of the place”, says proud landlord Muk Röhrl. The 35-year-old took over the inn from his uncle in 2006 and is now the eleventh generation to run the place.
