Stefan presented his first beer liqueur to his twin brother Max Hofstetter and his roommate Kay Thieme in December 2013, when Stefan, then a student of electrical engineering and information technology, was working in a bar specialising in cocktails made from regional ingredients. This inspired the bartender: How wonderful a taste-optimised beer spirit would be to drink pure! The three experimented for eight months – until their mixture was perfect.
Today Stefan’s factory is located in the middle of the Hallertau, the largest hop-growing region in the world. The taste of the beer liqueur is unique: malty and chocolaty, neither too spicy nor too sweet, almost like a good sherry or port wine.
