Each year, the world cup begins with a big opening ceremony in the Chiemgau arena. Individual, relay and mass start competitions take place on the following days. In this way, spectators always experience the ultimate in excitement. It is impossible to imagine the biathlon world cup in Ruhpolding without the diverse framework programme. Ultimately, it is because the fans want to wildly celebrate the achievements of “their” athletes. This is why Ruhpolding has not only erected a large marquee in the Chiemgau arena for the world cup, but fans also get their money’s worth in the village:
In Champions Park, the heart of the action on the edge of the world cup, official events such as the opening ceremony and awards ceremonies take place, and there is everything a fan’s heart desires in numerous huts and booths: Fan merchandise, snacks and drinks of all kinds. In the FANhouse (spa house), top-class bands once again extend an invitation to a big party.
The FANmile extends along the main street, which is completely closed to all traffic. Celebrating fans can stroll past the numerous shops, cafes and exhibition spaces, taking a look at and enjoying the extensive choice.
What is more, they can follow the competitions in the stadium on seven video screens and cheer the stars in the most demanding route sections at close range.
