Experience the views at the turn of the year and the mountain forest under a blanket of snow - visitors can see this on the treetop trail in the Bayerischer Wald (Bavarian Forest) national park near Neuschönau.
The accessible, family-friendly destination is open all year round and delights visitors even in the winter. Admittedly, a warm jacket is a must if you go for a walk in winter conditions along the 8 to 25-metre-high treetop trail with the 44m-high “Baumei” (tree egg) above the forest floor surrounded by unspoiled nature.
With a total length of 1300 metres, the treetop trail is one of the longest in the world and has many information stations, with rope bridges, shaking bridges, trapezes and balance beams.
You can warm up again at the end of the path in the forest cafe or Hans-Eisenmann-Haus, where much more information on the Bayerischer Wald (Bavarian Forest) national park awaits visitors.
