The Nebelhorn ski run
There’s sure to be something for everyone here – from freeriders to tour enthusiasts to sun worshippers.
The highest cabin cable car in the Allgäu takes visitors up to the Nebelhorn with its unique summit panorama, where they can enjoy the best views. The highest ski area in the Allgäu not only has very reliable snow but is also covered quickly and efficiently by modern snow-making equipment. The ski area, which is a mecca for tour enthusiasts as well, surpasses even the snow-making magic of fabled “Mother Holle”. Carving and curving is possible here until the end of April! There’s nothing quite as much fun as heading down its long, snowy pistes.
Below the 2,224 m summit of the Nebelhorn, 13 km of pistes ensure plenty of skiing and snowboarding fun. One particular highlight is the 7.5 km valley descent – which makes it Germany’s longest downhill run. In times of increasingly poor snow cover, this area is likely to gain in importance. The snow-making facility has been extended from the Höfatsblick station at 1,932 m down into the valley, enabling a comfortable descent.
The Nebelhorn has therefore become one of the most versatile ski areas. A fact which few would deny. Aspiring official ski instructors come to train in this ski area, which is also a popular spot with snowboarders and a place where freeriders can find their lines. It serves as a haven for winter walkers, while sun worshippers tan themselves on the terrace at the Höfatsblick station.
