The origin of today's palace garden ensemble goes back to the year 1747. Construction started as of 1747, most of which was completed in the time of King Ludwig I of Bavaria. Take for example the monumental white sandstone spa building from 1833 with a basilica-like profile and Italian Renaissance ornamentation in the ceiling paintings. The "Ross" inn, standing proudly over the ensemble and the main avenue in the valley, originated in 1751. Expanded as a royal summer residence in 1775, it became a royal court and castle hotel with additions in the baroque style in 1823. Opposite the court at eye level sits enthroned the Bellevue with its imposing, curved stairway.
