Burghaus Old Town – Stadtplatz:The Stadtplatz (or City Square) lies below the longest castle in the world and the colourful houses in Inn-Salzach style lend the town a southern flair. A number of cafés and beer gardens bring life to the Stadtplatz. The houses are all listed buildings. Small side alleys lead away from the Stadtplatz; there are lots of winding alleys and picturesque squares here.
In den Grüben:The pedestrianised zone has a special flair. Small handicraft businesses and restaurants can be found here. The jazz greats who have graced the stage in Burghausen during the International Jazz Week have been immortalised in the ground (Street of Fame). A larger square "Am Bichl" can be found in the centre of the pedestrianised zone: Lots of open-air events take place on the stages here during the summer months.
