Manja Wolf-Voit swings herself into the saddle of Patch, her chestnut gelding. The 38-year-old rides off through the Bergener Moos. Her long, bright red hair shines in the morning sun. Thanks to her looks and the white markings on the coat of her horse some people in the village call her “Pippi Longstocking”. But Manja Wolf-Voit is not just out for a ride – she is on her way to work. Since April 2017 she has been the landlady of Manja’s Gasthaus Schellenberg near Bergen in the Upper Bavarian district of Traunstein in the Chiemgau.
The Hochfelln is wonderful. From the top you have a great view over the whole of the Chiemgau. You can also take the Hochfelln cable car to the summit. In winter it’s an idyllic ski area, but more for experienced skiers.
