The brine spa town of Bad Reichenhall, situated in the heart of the Berchtesgaden region, is a place to breathe in and wile your time away.
Here you can enjoy life to the fullest, indulging in beneficial alpine brine baths and massages, listen to the harmonising spa music and wander through mountains and valleys.
A real intensive way to encounter the place is with original alpine brine inhalations from the mineral spring – this alpine brine helps to strengthen the body's defence system and airways. You can also enjoy a trip up the local mountain Predigtstuhl with the historical cable car; you will notice as you travel upwards (literally!) how your vital energy suddenly begins to pulse through your arteries.
Over 70 springs bubble in the sunshine; the flowing Saalach refreshes the climate; and the wonderful parks in the centre of the spa town invite you to stay a little longer. The Spa & Family Resort RupertusTherme gives you wonderful moments of pleasure, whatever the weather.
Royal Spa complex in the alpine town of Bad Reichenhall
- The King's spa
In contrast to the village-like feel of the Berchtesgaden Region, Bad Reichenhall had become really quite urban, with palatial villas and magnificent buildings. These historical buildingsare the reason behind the incomparable flair that you experience during a walk through the alpine town. The royal Bavarian atmosphere can be sensed through the unique architecture of the aristocratic estates together with the inimitable views of the mountains that you can enjoy at every corner in Bad Reichenhall.
- Königliches Kurhaus (Royal Spa)
The building was erected in line with the plans of Munich architect Max Littmann, who was also responsible for the Wandelhalle gallery and the Kurmittelhaus spa hotel. When the Königliches Kurhaus was ceremoniously opened in 1900, its rooms were used for many different purposes. There were reading rooms, smoking rooms and ladies' salons; guests could play billiards, drink tea, and write letters to their families back at home in the writing hall.
Even today, various kinds of concerts take place in the Königliches Kurhaus in Bad Reichenhall, like, for example, the Philharmonic Christmas Concert. People from across the world come together with locals and guests in the magnificent building to listen to the songs and music from the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic Orchestra. Warm light lends the artistically decorated rooms a magical atmosphere. It is not just concerts that take place here; the Kurhaus can also be used for private celebrations and for weddings.
