Did you know that Bavaria has a lighthouse? It is situated in Lindau - the historic island and garden city on Lake Constance. Against the impressive backdrop of the Alps, Germany’s most southerly lighthouse stands opposite the majestic Bavarian lion. It is not just this picture-postcard view that makes the Mediterranean-style city so popular with visitors from Germany and overseas: conference delegates, active holidaymakers and those looking for rest and relaxation will find what they need in Lindau - whatever age they are, and whatever their individual needs and expectations may be.
Inselhalle Lindau – the visionary conference and event location on Lake Constance
One of the city’s architectural highlights is the Inselhalle Lindau, which was reopened in 2018. With its copper-coloured roof, this extremely modern building picks up on the roof design of Lindau’s old town district while the light and airy foyer with its generous windows offers fantastic views of the lake. Inside the Inselhalle itself, elegance and functionality combine in impressive style: thanks to its modern spatial concept, the venue can cater for events of all sizes - from conferences and congresses with international flair to trade fairs, meetings, corporate functions and cultural events.
Modular, modern and flexible
In total the Inselhalle has enough space for up to 2,000 participants at a time - an advantage that is particularly important for large-scale events such as the Lindau Physiotherapy Week or the annual Nobel Laureate Meetings. At the heart of the Inselhalle there are three combinable rooms, of which the Grand Hall is the ideal location for plenary meetings with up to 1,100 guests. Around this core there are ten more new conference rooms on the ground floor and a further two at lower ground floor level, which can all be combined to create a total of 46 different variations. All the rooms are naturally equipped with the latest conference technology.
Fully serviced from a single source
Directly opposite the conference and event location there is a car park with around 400 parking spaces and numerous bicycle lockers. The car park and the Inselhalle are connected via the 2,500 square metre Stadtplatz, which can be used for presentations and events. The in-house DECK12 lakeside restaurant pampers visitors, including those not involved in the actual events, with its regional organic cuisine. Event organisers are able to focus entirely on their event because they are so well supported by the Inselhalle team and the Lindau Tourist Board on all organisational matters around the event and stay on the island and garden city of Lindau.
Mixing work with pleasure
Naturally there is also a comprehensive selection of accompanying activities: how about a fascinating lake cruise, a city tour through the medieval island, a glimpse behind the scenes at the Lindau Marionette Opera or a walk through the Lindau hinterland? The local team looks after visitors and provides insider tips for an unforgettable stay on the shores of Lake Constance. Combine work with pleasure by hosting your event in Lindau - and discover the many facets of this traditional city in the Germany-Austria-Switzerland border triangle.
