The Art Nouveau hotel near the royal palaces
Attesting to the hotel’s international flair the visitors’ book is strewn with famous names such as Will Quadflieg, Gina Lollobrigida und Theodor Heuss. The beautiful roof terrace affords wonderful views of the historic town centre and the “Hohes Schloss“.
The Hotel Hirsch is noted for the individuality of its rooms every one of which has its very own story to tell. “Via Claudia Augusta”, “Spitzweg”, “King Ludwig”, “Mount Säuling” – names with a ring to them and names awakening a curiosity about the region surrounding Füssen. The “River Lech” for example is decorated with stones from the bed of the river Lech whilst in the “Violin Maker” the wall is
adorned with a huge model of a viola. The romantic »Sisi« room is particularly popular with newly weds.
Step out of the hotel and into the picturesque town of Füssen on the edge of the Allgäu and Ammergau Alps. An absolute must for any visitors to the town is a visit to the late gothic palace housing a section of the Bavarian state art collection.
The fairytale Palace of Neuschwanstein which is just a few minutes drive from the hotel is the most important of all King Ludwig II’s castles whilst just a stone’s throw from Neuschwanstein is the Palace of Hohenschwangau, the childhood home of King Ludwig II. The “Wieskirche” – the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site – is also just a short drive from the hotel and ideal for a day’s excursion.
The restaurant serves a range of Allgäu specialities as well as select, light, modern dishes. Chef de cuisine Oliver Leykamm focuses on serving regional dishes prepared with fresh local produce.
